Jakarta is one of the world’s most populated cities and has been renamed thirteen times.

The city is home to the tallest library in the world, the National Library of Indonesia, which is 126.63 m (415 ft) and houses 27 floors of collections and library offices. 

 

Jakarta is home to more than 1,000 publishers.

Jakarta Content Week " aims to be the new hub for creative content and rights trading in Asia Pacific. Publishing products and other IP from the cultural and creative sectors, with a focus on Asia Pacific, are showcased and traded."

Indonesia International Book Fair (IIBF) is an annual book exhibition organized by IKAPI (Indonesian Publishers Association). It was established in 1980 under the name of Indonesia Book Fair and in 2014 was expanded to the Indonesia International Book Fair with Saudi Arabia as its first Guest of Honor country, followed by South Korea in 2015 and Malaysia in 2016.

The Jakarta International Literary Festival was founded in 2019 and is an annual festival that strives to promote Indonesian literature around the world.
